Michael A. McRobbie, CEO
Michael A. McRobbie, became IU's 18th president on July 1, 2007. He was unanimously appointed to the position on March 1 by the IU Board of Trustees after a seven-month presidential search that reviewed more than 200 potential candidates for the position. In making their decision, trustees cited McRobbie's extensive record of accomplishment in various roles as a senior administrator at IU as well as his strong academic credentials. McRobbie, a native of Australia, joined IU in January 1997 as vice president for information technology and chief information officer. In May 2003, he was given the additional responsibilities of vice president for research. The Board of Trustees in January 2006 appointed McRobbie to the position of interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. In addition, McRobbie is professor of computer science, professor of philosophy, adjunct professor of cognitive science, and adjunct professor of information science at Indiana University Bloomington, and professor of computer technology in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI. In 1998, McRobbie launched a comprehensive university-wide planning effort which resulted in the publication of "Architecture for the 21st Century: An Information Technology Strategic Plan for Indiana University," mapping the future development and application of information technology at Indiana University.

Dennis Gannon, Science Director
Dennis Gannon is professor of the Department of Computer Science at IU Bloomington,
where for seven years he also served as its chariman. His previous positions include associate
professor of computer science at Purdue University and senior visiting research s
cientist at the
Center for Supercomputer Research and Development at the University of Illinois.
He serves as senior computer scientist for the NCSA alliance and is on the steering committee
for the Global Grid Forum. His research involves large scale distributed systems and
scientific applications of Grid technology.

Craig Stewart, COO
Dr. Craig A. Stewart is Chief Operating Officer of the Pervasive
Technology Labs and Associate Vice President for Research and Academic
Computing at Indiana University. He is principal investigator for NSF
grants to Indiana University for the Data Capacitor Project and IU's
participation as a resource provider in the NSF-funded TeraGrid. Stewart
has worked in computing at Indiana University since 1985, and is
responsible for IU's activities in high performance computing, advanced
storage, advanced visualization, and IT infrastructure for the life
sciences. A Ph.D. biologist, Stewart has published in the areas of grid
computing, high performance computing, computing for the life sciences,
quality and accountability in information technology services, and
thermal physiology and natural history of mammals.

Therese Miller, Operations Manager
Therese Miller brings over twenty years of experience in financial management and personnel administration
to her role as operations manager for Pervasive Technology Labs. Prior to joining the Labs,
Therese served for over two decades as an accounting manager in the Office of the Vice President for
Information Technology and its predecessors. Therese is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Labs
,
overseeing grant activity, compliance, and reporting, and well as personnel, payroll, and procurement issues.

Daphne Siefert-Herron, Information Manager
After completing her B.A. in English from Indiana University, Siefert-Herron spent several years as Online Relations Coordinator
for the National Safety Council in Itasca, Illinois. Prior to joining the Pervasive Technology Labs in 2002,
she worked for an Indianapolis-based marketing logistics company. In her role as Information Manager Siefert-Herron maintains lab
statistics and publications lists, coordinates events and outreach activities, writes news releases,
and assists in the preparation of grant proposals and reports.

Mark S. Long, President and Chief Executive Officer Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation
Mark Long joined the IURTC in February 2002. coming from Washington University
in St. Louis, where he was director of the technical operations responsible
for business development activities in biomedical sciences, including marketing
inventions, promoting licensure of discoveries, evaluating patentability,
and promoting university/industry collaborations on research projects for
the clinical and biotechnology industries. He previously served as vice-president
of sales and marketing at Sigma Diagnostics. Long has more than sixteen years
of experience in the clinical diagnostics field, having held positions in
sales, marketing, and technical services position at Coulter Corporation
and Baxter Diagnostics. He began his career with four years of experience in teaching biology and
chemistry at Westwood High School, Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Long holds an A.S. in Medical
Laboratory Technology from Indian River Community College, Ft. Pierce, Florida and
a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Molecular Biology from Florida State University
in Tallahassee, Florida
