Activities and Games

Where in Indiana, Where on Campus, and Which IU Campus are games where participants match aerial photographs of geographic locations (e.g. buildings, cities, famous landmarks) with actual descriptions/names of the places. Prizes will be given to participants who play the game.

Earth as Art Multimedia Contest

The Indiana University (IU) Geographic Information Systems (GIS) community is hosting the 3rd annual Earth as Art contest in celebration of GIS Day, November 18, 2009. This is the first year participants may have a multimedia entry.

Participants are encouraged to create works of art based on geography such as satellite imagery, aerial photography, elevation data, infrared imagery, map features, GIS/remote sensing software and/or geographic terms and tools.

This contest is open to the general public of all ages. Have fun and surprise us at the GIS Day event! The winner will receive a $50 VISA card (to be used at any location where VISA is accepted) from 39 Degrees North.

Please bring any posters or printed images to the GIS Day event November 18, 2009, located on the IU Bloomington campus in the Herman B Wells Library lobby, no later than 10AM.
